Tom’s Big Picture

This guy has mad political skillz I must admit, but besides his traitorous position on immigration and liberal advocacy of higher taxes, I have always been fundamentally uncomfortable with his “slickness”.  He’s a slicky-boy as some people say, a little too polished and practiced, schooled in the competitive world of the SBC’s “who’s got the best 20-minutes-of-anecdotes-and-two-Bible-verses topical sermon” routine.

Well, my instincts were right; the man has no moral center, which probably explains why he’s so comfortable talking about his own righteousness.  Huckabee pardoned a rapist for political reasons (click here) and is now employing Dick Morris (Bill Clinton’s former political adviser who has reinvented himself as a “conservative”).  Click here for that story.  Morris, you’ll remember, is the guy who went down for trying to impress his hooker/girlfriend by patching her in on calls with Clinton while we was President to show how “connected” he was.
I must say this is a perfect storm.  All of the “frontrunners” are damaged goods except for Ron Paul.

We’ve got the illegal-alien-employing flip-flopping Mormon, the taxpayer-subsidized-adultery pro-abortion pro-homosexual mob-connected NY mayor, the actor who lobbied for Planned Parenthood who is too lazy to campaign, and the pro-illegal-immigration bombs-away basketcase McCain.  And then there’s Paul, married to the same woman for 50 years with 21 grandchildren, consistently pro-life, pro-family and better than the rest of the frontrunners on immigration.
