Give to the Republican Party Now!

The Republican National Committee is sending out fundraising letters right now.  Be sure and send back the postage due reply envelope with one of these:

Just print it up, cut it out and put it in the mail.  Render Bush’s legacy back to him.  Better Hillary than a traitor.

A good friend of mine, fellow Christian and partner at the Bracewell Guiliani law firm in Houston placed my email address on one of those Republican “insider/leader” lists. I appreciated that and assumed that the Republican party leadership would enjoy hearing from fellow Republicans and community leaders. Just before the congressional elections I sent an email titled “You guys don’t get it!” railing against budget busting spending, and failure to control the border. I was taken off the email list and have not recieved anymore information from the RNC. I am not a “yes” man to the party, the church, my clients or anyone else, if you want me involved you’ll have to bear my opinion. Especially if you’re paying for it.
Anyway, the ostrich with it’s head in the sand is a very fitting image. But Hillary is not better than a traitor and I will under no cirumstances vote for any of the Democratic candidates for President. Supreme court appointments are better left to the “traitors” of the Republican party than the race baiting bigots of the Democratic party.

It’s a tough quandary. On the one hand, I do think Giuliani would appoint slightly less liberal justices than Hillary. And the next justice could be important. But unless the Republicans pay a consequence for ignoring their base, we will continue to be betrayed. They think we have nowhere else to go. And I wouldn’t vote for Hillary. Maybe third party, and it wouldn’t matter since TX is going Rep. anyway.

The problem is the d–n Supreme Court. Both parties are able to ignore their bases on most issues b/c of the threat of conservative and/or liberal justices if the greater of two evils is elected. But with a Democratic Senate no matter what, we are unlikely to get a true conservative on the court anyway.

Most conservatives are going to at some point have to ask themselves a question:

    “AM I A REPUBLICAN BECAUSE I’M A CONSERVATIVE?, OR AM I A CONSERVATIVE BECAUSE I AM A REPUBLICAN?”

I myself, am a paleoconservative because of my principles. I vote my principles…….In the past, the GOP has held a certain amount of respect for my principles. More recently, they have chosen to ignore my principles, take me for granted, call me a bigot and rascist, refuse to build my fence that has been signed off on, blow smoke up my a$$ regarding terrorism, while maintaining an open border, seized more of my freedom, practically restarted the cold war, gave dictatorial powers to the executive branch, hired a private army that now makes up 50% of our troops in Iraq, turned our Middleastern Policy over to the Likud Party of Israel, tried to increase the power of the U.N. in my life, started looking at international couret decisions as relevant to my life, pretty much turned my CONSTITUTION into Washington toilet paper,………………..and now they want me to be a card carrying member of the GOP(Gutted Our Principles)?…………….They can kiss my big fat southern a$$!…………….Ronald Reagan had enough sense to get the hell out of Lebanon after the Marine Barracks Bombing, and realized that he could not fix 4000 years of barbarian hatred!………The GOP can die a slow death or a fast death, but unless RON PAUL is the candidate, they can color me GONE!!!!!!!

I disagree on the Hillary thing. It’s precisely because she’s so diametrically opposed to the main that I would vote for her. She’s so polarizing that none of her issues would get very far; the so-called “top tier” GOP-ers, however — largely thanks to the evangelical yes-men — will get, like W, every pet issue to take wings.

While a choice between Giuliani, Thompson, Romney or McCain on the one hand, and Hillary on the other is similar to asking whether you prefer to get shot or stabbed, I think on the weight of Hillary vitriol alone, she’s the lesser of two evils. Barring a Ron Paul candidacy, she’s my man.
